Since 2012, founder James Rogers has been on a mission to tackle the global Food Waste Crisis with a goal of providing a more sustainable, equitable path forward for the global food system. Apeel is an edible protective layer that extends fruits’ and vegetables’ shelf-life. Apeel-covered fruits and vegetables spoil slower and require less refrigeration, and the plant-derived peel reduces the use of plastic and other products harmful to the planet. Apeel pulls material from the natural skins, peels, seeds, and pulp found on fruits and vegetables, to create the extra protective peel. The thin layer slows down water loss and oxidation, which can help keep those fruits and vegetables from browning and spoiling.

About This Role

At Apeel Sciences, we look to nature to help the global food system improve quality, reduce waste, and ensure an abundant future for our planet. We are seeking a Content Creator Intern who will work with Apeel’s design and marketing teams to develop in-house content, as well as externally facing brand content to support B2B, B2C and Trade/Retail initiatives. The ideal candidate can develop creative content with proficiency in all aspects of production, using the latest creative software. Special preference for videographic and/or animation skills to be executed across social media platforms. Scripting and copywriting experience desired.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with marketing and design teams on content for activations
• Develop creative content - animations, videos, GIFs, etc - based on department needs and goals
• Follow a creative process with wide latitude for development and mentoring to completion
• Create and design video assets including animated social posts, short documentaries, etc.

What You Bring

• Are currently pursuing an AA, AS, BA or BS degree
• Skills in pre-production (story-boarding, preliminary scripting)
• Scripting and copywriting skills are a big plus
• High level experience with Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong motion graphics skills
• Video (filming and lighting)
• Editing (editing and graphics)
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Great attention to detail and ability to self determine task completion 
• Highly organized and with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities in parallel with each other
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
