Position: Microbial Biosafety Manager, Remote

We are looking for a Microbial Biosafety Manager that will be an integral part of the Regulatory and Compliance Team. This individual will be primarily responsible for managing safety evaluations for Pivot Bio’s microbial fertilizer products. The manager will also ensure safety assessments are completed and reports are written and communicated to all required stakeholders, both internally and externally. A strong background in microbiology, particularly around toxicity and/or pathogenicity will make for a great candidate. Occasional (Post-COVID) travel will be required for team/company meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and initiate appropriate biosafety assessments for products of interest.
  • Review and communicate pertinent information from reports, CoAs, and other outputs of such assessments to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Develops relationships, manages and works with external product safety testing labs and subject matter experts.
  • Develops, maintains, and improves all product safety reports and documentation including SDSs.
  • Develop and/or contribute safety information to technical publications for peer reviewed journals.
  • Conduct product safety reviews and training for cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Reviews and approves product label and other product materials for proper safety information.
  • Develop, implement and manage product safety policies and procedures for all internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s or PhD degree, preferably in microbiology, toxicology, or plant biology.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Regulatory science and/or product safety.
  • Self-driven and able to manage multiple and changing priorities with little direction and supervision
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of US and international regulations a plus
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

 

Must be authorized to work in the United States
