The People Strategy team partners closely with all People departments to set our strategy, drive key people-focused initiatives, and change across the company. As a member of this team, you will report to the Senior Manager of People Strategy & Operations. You will partner with our People teams to progress Cruise’s People strategy, develop cross-functional operational plans, lead complex projects, define, supervise and communicate success metrics, and operationalize their implementation. We seek to build a best-in-class People function, and this person will make that a reality. We are a growing and dynamic organization and this role provides a chance to roll-up your sleeves and help the company move from strategy to execution.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will work closely with the People Leadership team to define and drive progress against functional priorities aligned to company objectives.
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic work by synthesizing relevant data to present recommendations that will drive short and long-term impact.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive development and execution of scalable programs & company-wide initiatives through strong governance and communication practices.
  • Collaborate with partners across the organization to balance priorities and ensure alignment and accountability for the delivery and execution.
  • Lead a portfolio of cross-functional projects requiring careful and thoughtful change and stakeholder management.
  • Develop communications to provide visibility and insights into progress against key initiatives and support change management efforts.

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; M.B.A. or other advanced technical degree preferred
  • 10+ years experience in management consulting, private equity, recruiting, or human resources strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects with multiple partners; experience with a rapidly scaling business is a plus
  • Collaborative by nature; work openly and closely across all functional areas and levels to build relationships and tackle problems
  • Strong relationship-building skills across functions and teams to quickly operationalize key critical initiatives
  • Familiarity and comfort with HR data and metrics to draw meaningful insights
  • Able to develop clear, succinct communications for different audiences
  • You have a low ego; willing to shift from high-level critical thinking, to digging in to support implementation
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and a dynamic business landscape
  • You possess a proven understanding of best-in-class HR practices
