About the Role:

As the Facilities Maintenance Technician for our warehouse facility, you will work with the maintenance team to execute any maintenance issues that arise. You will work closely with the Facilities Warehouse and Inventory Manager and assist with tasks and projects ranging in all areas of maintenance as well as porter duties. A strong applicant will be a “jack/jill of all trades” with training in many different fields and have a flexible schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs and routine maintenance around the building (Paint, remodel, fixing structural damage, refurbish areas as needed)
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Change of all filters for HVAC as required
  • Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
  • Support the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English

Details of the Position:

  • Full-time non-exempt position reporting to the Facilities Warehouse and Inventory Manager
  • $20.50/hour
  • Position based out of our local operation

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing
  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment 
  • Able to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds

At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.

We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
