About the Role:
Our Janitorial Lead works alongside and with the team and is responsible for the safety and cleanliness of the facility, both internal and external. The Janitorial Lead receives direction from the Facility manager and carries out instructions based on given directive. The Lead is responsible for keeping a running inventory of all cleaning supplies, submitting purchasing requests when supplies get low, and assuring all parts of the office are clean. The Lead is required to be certified in operating all material handling equipment as needed by location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the performance and productivity of their team
- Support and follow direction from all managers and supervisors and completes tasks with minimum supervision.
- Train new employees on standard operating procedures, Safety guidelines, and GMPs.
- Performs duties to support the operations of production, warehouse and inventory teams.
- Report any potential safety hazards or repair needs to supervisor or management
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Communicate with other cross-functional departments in order to collaborate and solve problems
- Assigned to specific areas, or any combination of areas, such as the kitchen, bathrooms, general/common areas, to be cleaned either as scheduled or as needed
- Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping, emptying wastebaskets, dusting and wiping all surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, cleaning kitchens and pantries, cleaning appliances, cleaning windows, and mirrors, refilling all disposable items as necessary (including paper towels and toilet paper), vacuuming carpets, dusting and polishing furniture, and cleaning metal fixtures and fittings
- Repair or replace any minor maintenance items such as light bulbs, filters, paper products, and other similar items as necessary
- Maintain and clean all equipment, pack lines, vans, and other type of materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements
- Effectively communicates with all co-workers while still embodying our values.

Skills and Qualifications:
- 1 year of related experience preferred
- Must be able to work with various cleaning agents
- Ability to identify and list
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to count and basic math skills
- Ability to stay focused, work efficiently, and deliver results both alone and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work standing for 8+ hours
- Comfortable working in a refrigerated environment (38°F)
- Creative problem-solving skills
Details of the Position:
- Full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the production manager
- $18.50 per hour
- The position is based out of our warehouse in Walnut, CA

- Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are varied according to shift. There are occasions where overtime is required based upon operational needs. The Warehouse Lead is expected to work the hours it takes to finish assignments each day.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in both hot and cold temperature conditions
- Able to walk, stand, bend, squat/stoop, climb, reach, crouch, and kneel throughout the workday.
- Lift, lower, push, pull, leverage and manipulate equipment and/ or packages weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly or continuously over time.

How we are protecting employees from COVID-19
At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
