Energy Advisor

The Energy Advisor is the primary point of contact for homeowners who are in the market for a home energy management system (solar + storage) and guides them through their entire customer journey from researching to shopping to buying to installing to interconnecting.

How do Energy Advisors help?

Our Energy Advisors provide assigned homeowners with the necessary education and support to make well-informed decisions which Equipment, Installer, and Financing options are the best fit for their individual needs.

During the shopping & buying phase of the process, the Energy Advisor assists the homeowner prospect with comparing multiple quotes from competing Installers, helps the homeowner prospect to select an installer, and stays in touch until the system is interconnected and operational.

What you’ll do:

  • Phone and chat-based education and sales of a technical product to a decision maker
  • Prioritize and proactively follow up on warm, qualified sales opportunities to systematically move them through the sales funnel
  • Translate complex technical knowledge into an easily digestible concepts for consumers to understand.
  • Explain the economic advantages of investing in Home Energy Management systems
  • Customized each sales approach to ensure you are meeting the customer’s goals, wants, and needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the pros/cons of different solar energy technologies and the complexities of building architecture to determine viability of a home energy project.
  • Serve as the voice-of-the-customer for all internal stakeholders to help refine design, features, and functionality of the EnergySage Marketplace.

  • Can patiently educate customers and answer similar questions, repeatedly.
  • Establish and maintain trust and rapport with decision makers.
  • Regularly follow up with decision makers to check on the status of the process
  • Cultivate ongoing relationship with decision maker from initial contact to closed sale.
  • Can maintain a neutral position among multiple competing vendors and products.
  • Want variable compensation split between base and sales commission.

What we look for:

  • Proven sales experience with a technical product with multiple components
  • Experience achieving sales goals in an indirect sales cycle lasting anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months.
  • Experience educating purchasers of a complex, high dollar value product.
  • Several years of work experience that directly translate to our selling model; have a combination of years of experience and/or education degree.
