SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking a business development Summer Intern to join our growing West Region team and help Nexamp expand into the dynamic solar and energy storage market in California. In this role, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the business development Intern will assist in developing and supporting go-to-market strategies by investigating and reporting on successful market participants, effective business models, utility programs and related public policy. Candidates should have a demonstrated a strong general business acumen, a baseline knowledge of the solar and storage industries, and the desire to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates should be self-driven, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and comfortable interfacing with various internal departments.

 

Schedule: May 2021 – September  2021 (Extension Possible)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, create, and present deliverables on market conditions, incentive programs, and new business models to benefit members of the West Region and broader Business Development teams.
  • Follow changes in the solar and storage market and evaluate potential value that different offerings can bring to Nexamp projects
  • Evaluate potential solar and energy storage opportunities through site diligence, program research, economic analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Assist in identification, origination, and development of new solar plus storage opportunities in California and wider West Region markets
  • Manage project data in the preparation of proposals and supporting the analysis of new programs and markets

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player.

  • Creative and thoughtful market research and intelligence gathering
  • Enthusiastic about initiating outreach to prospective customers and strategic partners
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Equally able to work in a team setting or independently
  • Highly organized and capable of focusing on defined objectives
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Excel
  • Motivated, energetic, willing to learn
