SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking an Analyst to join our growing Energy Storage team and help Nexamp lead the charge in the rapidly evolving energy storage market. In this role, based in our Boston or Chicago office, the Analyst will support the development of solar and energy storage projects by evaluating new and existing projects to determine revenue and savings opportunities as well as optimizing project sizing. Candidates should have energy industry experience, a baseline knowledge of the solar and storage industries, and the desire to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment. Candidates should be self-driven, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and comfortable interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the execution and performance of accounting and finance activities, including, but not limited to:

 

  • Analyze new and existing programs and markets for revenue and development opportunities
  • Model and assess energy storage use cases as both solar co-located and storage standalone to determine revenue stack to optimize project lifetime revenue
  • Develop correlation and logic to optimize battery life, sizing, configurations, and control/dispatch
  • Work closely with Engineering and Procurement to ensure consistency and optimization of revenue with hardware and battery technology selection
  • Work with and analyze the offerings of potential partners and their sophisticated algorithm methodologies to ensure opportunities are matched with optimized solutions
  • Interface and collaborate with Nexamp’s Business Development, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) teams, Capital Markets, Operations & Maintenance, and Asset Management Services teams to ensure smooth project development and implementation
  • Review and report on market conditions, incentive programs, and new technologies to benefit other members of the Storage and wider Business Development teams
  • Manipulate, analyze, and visualize data for senior management to support final investment decision making

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player.

 

Key qualifications as follows:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of industrial or research experience in modeling and simulation of energy systems and/or battery storage
  • Understanding of US power and ancillary service markets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, with experience in backend programming languages, such as Java, Python, and MATLAB a plus
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Equally able to work in a team setting or independently
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and initiatives
  • Motivated, energetic, willing to learn
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or other quantitative discipline, master degree a plus
