SUMMARY

Nexamp is seeking an Associate to join our growing solar Business Development team in our Boston office. The Associate will assist the Business Development team in the identification, origination, and development of new solar opportunities in Nexamp target markets. Candidates should possess a basic understanding of renewable energy and a strong interest in solar energy project development. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a desire to learn quickly in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn Nexamp’s project site selection parameters and development approach.
  • Source new project sites using direct mailers and cold calls.
  • Evaluate potential ground and rooftop solar sites using GIS applications.
  • Maintain detailed reports using Salesforce and other applications.
  • Build and preserve relationships with property owners and potential partners.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Finance and Legal teams to identify potential project flaws.
  • Understand and represent Nexamp values and business strategy.
  • Shadow and coordinate with project developers.
  • Actively participate in regular team meetings.
  • Generate proposals and outreach materials to support project development efforts.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the Business Development team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hands-on, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Excel, PowerPoint and Google Earth (or similar mapping tool).
  • Equally able to work in a team setting or independently.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects, initiatives and data.
  • Motivated, energetic and eager to learn new concepts and skills.
  • Computer (Microsoft) literate.
  • Comfortable with persuasive communication style including cold-calling potential customer prospects.
  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
