The EHS Manager is responsible for creating, implementing, and executing Employee Health and Safety processes and programs that ensure a safe and suitable work environment for all associates working at the assigned site.  This role is also responsible for all reporting in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as required.  The role is a valued member of the site leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role creates and monitors programs and processes associated with Employee Health and Safety
  • Reviews company mandated and regulatory records for completion, accuracy, and adherence to internal processes.
  • Works as part of the site leadership team on proactively improving the EHS department and production facility.
  • This role is responsible for managing the contracted (or future inhouse) site security team and ensuring that all processes are followed at all time to prevent unallowed breach of the facility
  • Responsible for participating in the development of any pandemic or disaster response plans, implementation and monitoring for compliance
  • Responsible for implementing a robust employee training program for EHS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, EHS, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment preferred
Skills:
  • Leadership skills, focused on results, employee engagement, decision making, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work with a cross functional team to drive results
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong PC skills includes MS office programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
Abilities:
  • Ability to quantitatively review technical procedures and representative regulations. 
  • Capable of writing detailed reports, general day-to-day oversight, and related correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups and respond to questions from peers, supervisors and managers is essential

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to occasionally lift heavy objects up to 30 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.  Must be able to work for some portions of the shift in temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit and occasionally in 0 degrees Fahrenheit for short periods.
