OVERVIEW
The Engineering Team of Beyond Meat™ is looking for an outstanding individual to join the team. The Process Engineer – Extrusion’s primary role is to work with the innovation, commercialization, and engineering team to start-up extrusion processes, own core projects related to continuous improvement in extrusion, assist with trials, and specify additional requirements to land key business initiatives through the extrusion process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessing, identifying, and developing manufacturing equipment and process solutions for new products and market plans through extrusion technologies
  • Understanding and identifying technology and equipment that is the best fit for required solutions
  • Develop cost estimates, schedules, execution, and startup budgets and plans for activities
  • Oversight of equipment installation, commissioning, and handover to operations team(s)
  • Documentation of extrusion line capabilities and processes
  • Ensure quality and food safety by building quality control into processes
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Key Contributor to the Operations Team to provide strategic and tactical support
  • Lead Individual to execute key business initiatives and trials for future growth
  • Build and develop training for teams interfacing with extrusion equipment to standardize all sites
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop safety, quality, and operations to “Best In Class”
  • Build Maintenance Team Awareness around technology, process, and troubleshooting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related science
  • 5 years of experience in a Food/Beverage and/or Biotech company
  • Extrusion experience preferred
  • Multiple roles that have been both plant and corporate based with an emphasis on production and R&D
  • Demonstrated ability to lead manufacturing scale-up projects in food/beverage
  • Significant experience working with Food or Biotech R&D teams and facilities
  • Depth in quality systems such as HACCP, GMP, SQF
  • Proficient in MS Office suite (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), MS Project and AutoCAD or comparable applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
Other qualifications:
  • Willing and Capable to Travel Domestically and Internationally to Support Business Needs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Based in Columbia, Missouri
  • Comfortable working in and with individuals inside a manufacturing setting
  • Preform Troubleshooting and Assessments
