The Opportunity:

Leading Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) for the Enel X business unit in North America, your role will be focused nationally with global visibility.  You will manage a small team and promote best in class safety culture across all functions with support of a world class organization dedicated to safety, not only in plan but also in execution.  This is a great opportunity to implement and shape the HSEQ mindset within a fast growing, innovate organization where your contributions will help change the way the world uses energy.  

 

Preferred location is New England area but open to 100% remote if willing to travel once it's safe to do so.

What You'll Do at Enel:

  • Develop, maintain and implement the HSE programs, compliance plans and initiatives including ISO 45001
  • Develop, coordinate, and track various HSE training to support company programs for onsite and remote staff
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and counsel employees involved. Perform root cause analysis and process improvement involved in incidents to prevent reoccurrence
  • Assist with development and implementation of contractor assessment process and contractor safety
  • Investigate and take appropriate actions concerning employee requests, complaints and concerns involving unsafe conditions/practices
  • Work with operations staff in the implementation and development of site specific HSEQ procedures and training programs
  • Act with integrity in all HSEQ matters to maintain compliance and excellence
  • Oversee data maintenance and collection for HSEQ internal and regulatory reporting. Maintain HSEQ data integrity within all data systems, including SAP
  • Oversee Enel X NA emergency action plans and provide training as needed
  • Develop budget forecasts, schedules and associated cost information for HSEQ dept.
  • Special Projects as required including coordination of and/or participate in various Enel wide HSEQ initiatives
  • Maintain a positive rapport with various state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Manage and develop direct report employees
  • Lead and drives multiple safety committees and safety culture

Who You Are:

  • A team player with passion, drive and the ability to self-start
  • Able to be on your feet walking around the facility at least 50% of the day. Climb ladders/stairs and lift as required to perform necessary job tasks.
  • Highly skilled in communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database applications.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the greater Boston area.  Availability for local, domestic and international travel; up to 25%.

What You've Accomplished:

  • BS in Safety, Environment or related work experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of related experience, including people management experience
  • Electrical Safety background strongly preferred
  • Experience managing remote, geographically dispersed sites
  • Experience with safety management systems/quality systems, (SAP a plus)
  • Preferred:
    • National Fire Protection Association 70E and OSHA’s general industry electrical safety standards.
    • ISO 45001 implementation experience
    • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
