Rad Power Bikes is a leading consumer-direct ebike manufacturer specializing in high quality yet affordable electric bikes for weekend warriors, hardcore commuters, and family cyclists. 
Madly growing and headquartered in Seattle, WA we are seeking a full-time Senior Accounting Manager to join our team. If you enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are looking to be a part of a dynamic team, this might be the role for you! 
As Senior Accounting Manager for our European entity, you will oversee and support the daily operation and month-end close accounting of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Reconciliation, Revenue, Inventory, VAT and Payroll functions. You will have working knowledge of US GAAP principles, proficiency in accounting systems and strong motivation to contribute to the success of the overall Accounting function. 
You pay great attention to detail, have solid critical thinking and analytical capabilities, are self-motivated and work well independently. You have the ability to deliver results under deadlines as well as working effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment. This role will report directly to our  Director of Accounting in Seattle, WA, USA with a dotted line relationship to the Director of European Operations

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance  and 8+ years of experience in accounting

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in working for a multi-cultural, multi-national organization
  • Experience preparing and reviewing monthly VAT returns for EU and UK
  • Ability to lead others
  • Manage accounting compliance
  • Ability to manage year-end closing and internal and external audits
  • Experience working in a consumer sales organization
  • Monitor VAT legislation and Duty changes and perform impact analysis 

You get bonus points for:

  • CPA, CA or similar professional designation
  • You have worked with Netsuite, or other ERP systems
  • Knowledge of local Dutch GAAP / Experience supporting local statutory reporting
  • Experience with Shopify, Mollie, Stripe and other 3rd party merchant service providers
  • Experience working in a decentralized Direct to Consumer ecommerce environment

Had you been with us last month, the top 5 things you would have impacted are:

  • Month-End Close & Consolidation – oversee the detailed completion of EU close deliverables, partnering closely with peers on US team. Ensure team members and cross-functional contributors are meeting deadlines and successfully resolving open questions as needed.
  • Daily Operational Oversight –  Lead, coach and support one staff accountant. Ensure completeness, timeliness, accuracy and accountability of AR/AP/Cash/Payroll transactions and reporting, Support timely and professional communications with vendors, customers and other external queries.
  • Local Statutory Support – Partnering closely with 3rd party accounting firm, ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting and filing. Support annual statutory reporting under Dutch GAAP and other periodic local reporting requirements, and any statutory audit requests as needed.
  • Strong Internal Service Partner  - Be an open and available resource for Commercial/CX/Product Support/Supply Chain/IT/Ops as needed to support their finance-related operational questions; drive efficiency in manual processes, and drive local compliance with company policies and procedures; participate in efforts to drive improvements in system integrations and automations. Assist in providing support for annual US GAAP audit other ad hoc project requests.
  • Finance Systems - achieve fluency in the integration processes impacting Order to Cash and Procure to Pay cycles in the GL and be prepared to participate in and support the troubleshooting and variance analysis of related transactions as needed and under the coordination of the Finance Systems Manager and other Accounting team personnel.
