The Vice President will be responsible for leading a cross-functional team to develop a best-in-class relationship with McDonalds to drive long term profitable global growth of Beyond Meat products at their global restaurants. Be a champion within Beyond Meat for McDonald's and their customers, making sure Beyond Meat focuses on win-win initiatives allowing McDonald's to continue to win in their channel/enabling their growth strategies.
This position is accountable to evaluate and determine viable customer needs and opportunities, develop effective sales and marketing strategic plans, nurture key customer management relationships, collaborate with internal functions, achieve profitable revenue objectives, coordinate supply chain needs, manage a P&L, prepare, and execute product programs, assess competitive environments and analyze/evaluate results by market and product.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Beyond Meat is aligned to McDonald’s strategic priorities and develop a clear annual and long-term strategic customer-facing business plan that achieves mutually beneficial goals.
  • Review and evaluate performance in achieving sales and execution objectives.
  • stablish and foster strong long-lasting customer relationships with leadership across markets and functions to create a collaborative "win-win" relationship.
  • Act as the customer representative internally to ensure that their demands are met with a focus on always improving the customer experience.
  • Assist with the design of marketing plans to strengthen Beyond’s brand position and exceed both McDonald’s and Beyond’s velocity targets.
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship by learning, then demonstrating a clear understanding of customer’s business and business model, bringing value and business enhancing ideas coupled with successful execution.
  • Liaison between customer and internal cross-functional teams to meet timelines and customer expectations.
  • Develop accurate customer sales forecasts.
  • Assist in plans to drive lower pricing with a goal to reduce the current price gap to animal protein. Establish clear customer cost targets for Beyond’s plant-based foods.
  • Develop customer scorecard and learning plan; ensure post promotion analysis and re-application of learning. Provide on-going communications to cross functional teams and leadership on progress against plans.
  • Working with McDonald's Menu and Marketing teams, generating business development opportunities grounded in Customer Strategy, initiate and manage all elements of Product Development activities.
  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of new menu items. Use trend and other research data to identify innovation opportunities that competitively differentiate and deliver a unique experience for customer’s guests.
  • Extend Beyond Meat’s category and consumer understanding to McDonald's as point of differentiated value.
  • Manage the delivery of the McDonald's Business Unit P&L through the annual planning process: Volume, Pricing, Cost Management, Selling, General & Administrative (SG&A), Profit; includes monthly and quarterly business reviews.
  • Overall financial responsibility for customer engagement.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree, MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in QSR or QSR supplier leadership positions, preferably with International experience
  • Displays accountability with a focus on business and customer results.
  • Demonstrated ability to build long term customer relationships at all levels of the organization, including c-level
  • Demonstrated ability to influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including c-level
  • Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating and presentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal/written) with the ability to interact effectively internally as well as with external contacts.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must excel in multi-tasking within a fast-paced organization.
  • Work well both independently as in a team environment and leads by example
  • Proven resiliency and collaboration in the face of challenging circumstances.
  • Displays accountability with a focus on business and customer results.
  • Experienced in analyzing data/information to communicate recommendations which positively influence business results.

  • Proven ability to work cross-regionally, cross-culturally and in matrixed reporting environments with complex customers.
