About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Reliability Test Engineer to help us make the best possible micromobility vehicles. You will assist in testing new features and new vehicles. You will work on everything from the brakes, to the structure, to the power train. Our vehicles get very well used, you will need to figure out how to test new designs the same way they get tested on the streets and then work with engineering to make them bulletproof. Come up with ideas for making the vehicles better and then make them a reality!

Responsibilities

  • Work with the reliability engineers to develop testing methods, test fixtures and/ or test equipment to test product system-level and components level performance.
  • Develop automatic or manual tester and fixture through design, fabricating, assembly, wiring, and final validation to support the reliability testing such as the mechanical fatigue, vibration, impact, shock, humidity, temperature, and pressure/force measurements.
  • Utilize either internal lab or work with 3rd party shops to fabricate test fixture, tooling and equipment.
  • Develop LabView or Python or other programming scripts for test automation and in-situ data collection.
  • Coordinate with external test labs to get products tested and supervise the labs to ensure the tests were performed according to the test conditions.
  • Demonstrate capability of making engineering judgement to resolve the testing problems/issues caused by test equipment or conditions in an unattended manner during reliability testing.
  • Capable of processing and summarizing data, e.g., summarize the critical issues from vendor’s test reports and communicate effectively to various engineering teams.
  • Has ability to effectively lead multiple projects simultaneously and meet schedule goals.
  • Empowered to collaborate among a diverse set of partners including US Engineering groups.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent engineering field.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in reliability testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, electrical systems.
  • Experience working with electromechanical tester and data acquisition systems to measure acceleration, temperature, pressure, force, strain and to use other common techniques in reliability test lab.
  • Proven ability in CAD design for test fixture fabrication and material handling with knowledge of machining and fabrication techniques.
  • Consistent record of writing up well written test plans, corrective actions and test result reports.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment including environmental chambers, vibration tables, tensile and compression testers, strain gauges, thermocouples, and electro-mechanical lab equipment.
  • Proven reliability program experience taking products through DFMEA, testing, field performance, and scale.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • proficiency using LabView, Python, or other data acquisition and analysis software.
  • Experience in consumer electronics or micromobility products a plus.
