Job Description

Impossible Foods is seeking an experienced, motivated, and mission-aligned Research Associate/Sr Research Associate to join the Ingredient Discovery Team. We are looking for a curious, analytic, collaborative, hard-working and creative “can-do” problem solver.
You will be working in a cross-functional team evaluating the ingredients that make up our products - from discovery and characterization to manufacturing scale production. This role is essential to ensure that Impossible Foods identifies or develops high quality ingredients to create delicious and nutritious plant based products to delight customers.

You Will:
- Create delicious and nutritious plant based meats
- Design, conduct, and analyze sensory and analytical experiments to understand new flavors and textures caused by ingredient changes
- Identify new ingredient attributes that would solve technical challenges in current and future products
- Proactively collaborate cross-functionally and help support complex and large scale experiments
- Voice ideas, concerns, and solutions to teammates
- Present research results to the working team and create reports

You Have:
- BS or MS in Sensory Science, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field
- 2+ years of research or development experience
- Demonstrated ability to thrive working as part of a team
- Experience in formulation, material science, protein science, flavor creation, sensory science and or assay development a plus
- Strong ability to use the scientific method
- Experience in data analysis and some statistical knowledge
- Sensory testing experience a plus
- Agile working with their handing to create food samples
- A passion to create new products that meet consumers' needs
- Self starter with the ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
