Job Description

Are you a strategic People Business Partner looking for a great company to make even better through your strong insight and impact? Redaptive is looking for our first People Business Partner as we head into the next stage of our growth. The position reports to the VP, People and will serve our US organization (80 of us) pending further expansion of the People team later this year. The current People function is a team of four in the US: VP; People Operations Manager; People Operations Coordinator; Recruiter.  Our India People team has a Head of People and a People Associate. While we expect to remain an organization enabling our employees to work from anywhere in the US, the successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of and experience with California employment law and its complexities. Considering this, there is a strong likelihood the successful candidate will have been a Business Partner somewhere in California, but that location is not a current or future requirement.   

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and tactical support to managers and employees within the context of driving an effective and efficient talent planning framework that serves today’s business with an eye toward tomorrow
  • Develop, recommend and implement a talent strategy to support our business goals
  • Impact the organization at all levels through delivery of People programs developed by your colleagues, sometimes with great input from you
  • Participate in People team thought leadership; enjoy having an uplifting and supportive influence on your colleagues both here and in Pune, India
  • Play a critical role in the continuing rollout of our v2 Career Development Framework
  • Maintain an easy interface with the People team’s L&D, Recruiting and Operations functions both in the US and in Pune, India
  • Throughout the US organization, be the first line of communication and implementation on issues and programs spanning all People disciplines (employee relations, leaves of absence, performance management) so the pass off of related data to your colleagues is accurate and seamless
  • Be able to develop and share meaningful metrics out of the myriad of activities you address daily
  • Be available as needed for occasional later evening or early morning calls with our Pune colleagues

  • Who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, reliable and effective
  • Who processes their observations and guidance with very little value-judging and a lot of generous spirit
  • With the courage to deliver direct guidance as soon as it is needed
  • Who will instinctively look for solutions through the filter of: What is the right/fair thing to do? How do we address this in a way that respects everyone involved?
  • Who is confident but humble, and finds it easy to admit mistakes and learn from them
  • Who is smart, detail-oriented, organized, fact-based and metrics-driven 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ in Human Resources or Organizational Development a plus but not required
  • 8+ years’ experience in a People (HR) Business Partner or very similar People role in fast-paced companies
  • Having had a PHR or SPHR certification at some point is a big plus
  • Strong understanding of and experience with California employment law and its complexities
  • Innate bias toward action
  • We would love it if you were a bit of an Excel jockey

At this time you will need to already have current permanent authorization to work in the United States
