Your role

Fastned enables EV drivers around Europe to fast-charge their vehicle with renewable energy and leads the way in making mobility sustainable. As Network Operations Lead you are in charge of the central Network Operations Centre (NOC), ensuring a consistently high uptime and maximizing the performance of chargers, payment systems and connected devices. In doing so, you make sure that Fastned remains and grows as the most reliable and trusted EV charging network in Europe.

In this entirely new role, you will drive projects that enhance our capabilities in at-scale monitoring, diagnosis and the overall growth of our charging network. You will be responsible for executing these initiatives by putting in place the right monitoring & analytics tools, while implementing waterproof issue-detection mechanisms and procedures. You deliver results by leveraging data, conducting effective root cause analysis and translating this into laser-focused action plans. 

Your overall responsibilities include:

  • Leading subject matter expertise on everything happening on our charging network;

  • Building monitoring & analytics tools to detect issues and inefficiencies across our charging network (in collaboration with our in-house data team);
  • Owning key performance metrics (network uptime, session fail rate,..): be ferocious and resourceful in improving these metrics;
  • Coordinating and prioritising charger issues with various stakeholders in- and outside the organization (ranging from our internal maintenance team, new software development, to finding solutions with our suppliers);
  • Managing critical supplier relationships;
  • Taking ownership of our proprietary charging management tool (Revolt) and seeking opportunities to enhance functionality in line with business and scalability needs;
  • Building and optimising scalable processes to prepare the company for hyper growth.

Who we are looking for

You bring along a technical aptitude, outstanding data skills, and you love solving complex problems in a structured way. Your experience with data-driven decision-making & people skills enable you to confidently present your findings across a diverse team of internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

  • A Master's degree in a technical field;

  • Excellent skills in SQL and Google Sheets. Bonus points if you’re familiar with Python and/or R.
  • Professional background in operations in a data driven technology company;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you think big and want to do bold things, while at the same time measuring impact and effectiveness. You learn, improve and implement again.
  • Strong ability to build & manage partnerships to achieve a common goals;
  • Proactive, hands on, able to keep an overview: you prioritise and coordinate effectively;
  • You look forward to learning more about the technical part of our chargers;
  • You are highly motivated by accelerating the energy transition.
