In this role you will contribute to achieving our goal of building a European network of 1,000 fast charging stations on prime locations where electric drivers can charge their vehicles with energy from the sun and wind.

Your role

Fastned is expanding its network of fast charging stations in the Netherlands and is looking to strengthen the local team with a Construction Manager. As Construction Manager you will be an integral part of an experienced and international team and you will be responsible for delivering high quality charging stations across the Netherlands. In this role, you are working in close cooperation with the architect, the project manager and the network development manager as well as with our external construction partners.

Your responsibilities include the planning of construction (checking execution drawings, defining specifications, getting quotes from our contractors and scheduling both works and delivery of goods), change management and problem solving during the execution, and the supervision of works (quality, health and safety, site acceptance & final accounts). As such, you will frequently be on our construction sites, where you will be able to demonstrate negotiation skills, commercial judgement, high quality standards and the ability to manage a larger number of projects and stakeholders in parallel.

Our headquarters are conveniently located near the Amstel station in Amsterdam. In order for you to be flexible in your job we will provide you with a fully electric company car. We are looking forward to welcoming you in our innovative and rapidly growing company in the field of e-mobility! 

Who we are looking for

You are a real team player and you have the ability to think on your own feet - you feel comfortable taking initiative and responsibility. You are not afraid to make mistakes and you are always keen to keep on learning. “Think like a founder” is something you identify easily with. Additionally, you tick the following boxes:

• You hold a relevant degree, for example in civil engineering (HBO);
• A minimum of four years of previous experience in a similar role (preferably at a construction or civil works company);
• Strong negotiation and communication skills;
• High level of commercial judgement;
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of initiative;
• Ability to work structured and prioritize your tasks efficiently;
• Willingness to travel within the Netherlands (and Belgium);
• (Near-)native level of Dutch language and fluency in English are a must;
• Driving license;
• Plus points for experience with construction along highways.
