Job Description
Here at Modern Meadow we are harnessing the power of design, biology, and engineering to produce biofabricated materials. As we continue to grow we are seeking to hire a driven finance director who will work to plan, execute and support initiatives in financial and business strategy and financial planning and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the leadership team and other stakeholders to develop and leverage financial models to assist management in strategic decision-making and scenario analysis
- Partner with internal/external stakeholders on operational performance and strategic business matters and initiatives
- Manage and maintain the company’s strategic operating plan with appropriate controls
- Lead the benchmarking and setting of key financial and operational metrics; Develop and manage dashboards for the leadership team
- Manage and evolve the company’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure company objectives are appropriately resourced and successfully executed
- Lead monthly reviews of operational/financial results and variances; and adopt strategies to influence operational changes and behavior
- Evaluate, implement and manage finance/BI systems and tools to support effective financial, planning & analysis and business support requirements
- Partner with controllership to support an effective financial and business control environment as well as to ensure integrity of master data
- Develop and manage team members
- Support the CFO and CEO in Board and investor presentations, and other strategic activities
Requirements:
- BS/BA in Finance/Accounting; MBA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive analytical experience from a top global investment bank, global management consulting firm and/or corporate finance/FP&A role; public company experience a plus
- 2+ years of management experience
- Experience with the financial planning and analysis function preferred
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly; Working knowledge of finance and BI platforms/tools preferred
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence diverse groups in a dynamic and changing environment
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey new concepts and/or complex matters to any level of the organization or our key stakeholders (e.g. Board, bankers, auditors, tax advisors)
- Strong organizational and execution skills with an effective ability to proactively prioritize and resourcefully drive results
- Excellent analytical skills demonstrating good judgment and ability to frame and solve business problems creatively
- A natural leader. Your track record shows numerous occasions of bringing people together, formally or informally, to accomplish something you’re passionate about
- Tendency to ‘geek’ out a little when it comes to science!
