POSITION SUMMARY
Hannon Armstrong is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Annapolis, MD. This role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our accounting function. The areas of responsibility will include preparing our SEC filings and supporting disclosure information, performing analysis, recording journal entries, and assisting in the accounting close process. The position will also be integral to contributing to the operating effectiveness of our compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal controls environment
This position is based in Annapolis, Maryland (with temporary remote work possible at the time of hire due to the pandemic). 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Preparation of periodic SEC filings such as Form 10-K and Form 10-Q using Wdesk filing software
  • Preparation of disclosure schedules for SEC filings and ESG reporting
  • Serving as a key liaison with our external and internal auditors for responding to document requests and managing audit timelines
  • Participation in month-end close process

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • At least two years of experience in a public company environment with a Big 4 or regional accounting firm; energy or financial services industries experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • Active CPA license holder or candidate for CPA license
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required
  • Strong proficiency in Excel with an understanding of data analysis techniques
