Audio Systems Architect

The Digital Cockpit team is responsible for defining the digital experience in all of NIO’s premium smart EVs.  It designs and implements software and hardware to enable the ultimate living room experience for our luxury, electric, autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Own the system design and the embedded software architecture of the solution from a holistic system understanding and from a targeted user experience
• Own, design and deliver the embedded software design
• Own, implement and test the software modules related to audio domain
• Collaborate with engineering team members and stakeholders to define and build our end-to-end audio system
• Drive our system architecture specifications down to the component level selection and development for the next generation of products

Requirements

• Hands-on experience designing and developing audio features in a DSP or in a mix system using DSP and CPU
• Deep understanding of how audio data flows within an end-to-end system
• Deep understanding of acoustic concepts and how an end-to-end audio system is designed
• Deep understanding of audio processing blocks required within an end-to-end system using microphones, speakers, and voice
• Experience delivering major products to mass production

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD or MS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years experience of embedded systems development including experience as a software, silicon/SoC or system solutions architect
• Experience with OpenGL or other tools

This position can be based in San Jose, CA or Seattle, WA.
