We’re using fermentation (not animals) to make dairy proteins that are the foundation for foods like ice cream, cheese and yogurt – all with the distinctive taste and textures that consumers demand, but without lactose or environmental downsides. Through partnerships with respected brands, we’re working to launch a whole range of dairy products that will help shape a humane, sustainable food system for future generations. Perfect Day is seeking a supply chain manager with strong operational expertise to lead supply chain execution as we scale up production of our animal-free dairy protein products. As supply chain manager, you will use operations management, analytical, and program management skills, to drive supply chain performance to the next level. Our ideal candidate has domestic U.S. and international logistics experience and excels in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage execution of supply chain day-to-day operations.
  • Align logistics plans with production, purchasing, and sales requirements to achieve optimal service level and cost of fulfillment for multiple channel segments.
  • Ensure that inbound and outbound shipments are made on-time and issue-free.
  • Implement process improvement and technology that will increase logistics operations productivity levels.
  • Support requirements specification, evaluation, testing, and implementation of a TMS.
  • Measure and analyze logistics performance, develop corrective action plans, and provide data for KPI’s.
  • Forecast logistics costs for budget setting purposes and estimate logistics costs for supply chain modeling.
  • Manage logistics supplier portfolio to ensure appropriate capacity and capabilities to support short- and medium-term business needs.
  • Manage logistics supplier relationships including (re)qualification/certification, audits, business reviews, scorecards, early involvement, and pricing/service negotiations.
  • Identify logistics cost and service improvement opportunities and benchmark against market conditions.
  • Ensure that transportation arranged complies with applicable import/export, food safety, and/or dangerous goods regulations.
  • Manage shipping document retention policies to support quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that over/short/damage claims and freight invoices are processed in a timely efficient manner.
  • Recommend optimal Incoterm, minimum order quantity, and finished good SKUL to maximize lifetime value of customer.
  • Support inventory control activities including cycle counts and physical inventory.
  • Provide guidance on cargo packaging and labeling for best cost transportation and regulatory compliance.

What Skills and Experience We Need:

  • B.S. Logistics, B.S. Supply Chain Management, or equivalent 10-years practical experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail oriented.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrates a proactive customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to devise and deliver process improvement and technology that increases productivity levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other functional areas such as manufacturing, QA/QC, sales & marketing, finance, and EH&S.
  • Expertise managing truckload, less than truckload, air freight, ocean full container load, and ocean less than container load transportation.
  • Experience arranging transportation and storage of perishable cargo and chemicals a plus.
  • Working knowledge of dangerous goods regulations including U.S. DOT, ICAO/IATA, and IMDG.
  • Experience implementing a TMS and/or ERP system.
  • Practical application of lean and six sigma tools a plus.
  • CPSM, CSCP, and/or SCPro certification a plus.
