The Accounting Team at Bird partners cross functionally with the business to deliver financial and accounting insights and guidance. We project manage annual audits, and are responsible for establishing a control environment. As an Accountant with  a good understanding of basic accounting concepts and business processes, you will improve processes and increase business engagement across our EMEA markets. 

Responsibilities

  • Record journal entries to accurately reflect appropriate accrual basis accounting transactions for assigned functions in the correct period, including accruals of expenses, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, etc.
  • Help to develop, implement, and execute new accounting processes and systems
  • Generate ad hoc reports and provide detailed analyses and explanations of transactions
  • Act as a business partner for international entities, assisting with operational and accounting matters
  • Assist with preparing and filing of financial statements and corporate income tax returns
  • Participate in and execute ad hoc requests and projects related to statutory compliance and accounting
  • Provide support for USGAAP monthly processes from EMEA perspective

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures like revenue recognition, accrued expense, and intercompany transactions
  • Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment, while demonstrating strong planning and prioritization skill
  • Experience in operating systems including, but not exclusive to, NetSuite, Concur, and Bill.com
