What You Will Be Doing

As a member of an international team of experts, you will work with EU, US, and UK based design teams to guide the regulatory aspects of the design, and to test, and obtain certifications of ChargePoint’s next generation AC and DC electric vehicle charging equipment, to safety, EMC, and metrology requirements including ChargePoint’s integrated revenue metering solutions.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • Ensure that written product requirements documents contain all required regulatory features.  Evaluate product designs and provide input to align the design with safety, EMC, wireless, and metrology compliance at an early stage of development
  • Carry out product safety validation testing prior to agency certification activities
  • Support internal customers in activities such as RFP (request for proposal), product safety regulations and specifications, installation issues, review of marketing materials and product specifications, field installation support group, customer support groups and other internal customers
  • Represent ChargePoint on various industry groups, safety committees, standards and code development panels as needed
  • Support teams in performing and documenting root cause analysis of field returns
  • Support manufacturing in understand production line testing and documentation as it relates to maintaining safety and metrology certifications and accreditations
  • Create lab procedures and develop documentation needed to achieve assist technicians in their work and to enable test facility accreditations for safety agency programs such as UL client test data
  • Support OEM programs for both buying and selling products to strategic partners
  • Support international expansion into EU and beyond by understanding and implementing regional requirements and certifications, managing OEM partners EU compliance including EMC, safety, wireless, RoHS, REACH, and others

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product safety design, test, and agency certifications
  • Experience with mains switch gear or industrial controls desirable
  • BS in Engineering or similar discipline
