Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You will be working within Kaluza, playing a crucial role in helping Kaluza provide retailers with technology that will change the future of energy. You’ll also be part of the centralized Kaluza analytics team and wider OVO analytics community where you’ll share knowledge, support other analysts and contribute towards the team's methodologies.

What will I be doing?

Data is the foundation of everything we do, and to deliver our vision we need curious, tenacious people who can turn this data into strategy and actions with their expertise. As a Data Analyst at Kaluza, you’ll help product teams derive insights, identify patterns and solve challenges with data. You’ll be working with outstanding product teams develop industry leading agent tooling and drive decision making through data.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Aiding Kaluza’s move to track its product performance using analytics on key user journeys. Helping to define what is important to track, how to track them and supporting the adoption of these metrics.
  • Defining metrics and building dashboards to support performance analysis, operations, decision making and product development
  • Taking on complex, multi-functional problems through the use of analytical techniques, statistics and hypothesis testing
  • Building out our robust data estate to enable self-serve analytics and democratize Kaluza’s rich data
  • Developing and optimising sophisticated retail data products that form aspects of the Kaluza platform
  • Commercial modelling, creating cost/benefit analysis of proposed actions and outcomes based on a consistent value model.
  • Promoting ethical methodologies across how all data is used and processed, always ensuring compliance and security is placed first.

Is this the job for me?

It is if you have

  • 3+ years in a similar data or analytical role, with good experience querying, analysing and extracting insights from data.
  • Deep SQL experience (ideally BigQuery) & Excel/Sheets skills
  • Confidence in building and communicating significant data visualisations and experienced in using a business intelligence platform (we use Tableau)
  • Experience in programming for analytics, preferably in Python.
  • Experience with user interaction tooling (e.g. Mixpanel) and an understanding of customer journeys
  • Highly numerate & analytical; able to seek complex problems and delve into the detail while thinking strategically
  • Statistical knowledge including significance, hypothesis testing and basic probability theory
  • Proven track record engaging with internal and external partners
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills - able to articulate results clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders.

Ideally you will have…

  • Exposure to product analytics and experience working with product teams
  • Education to degree level in a numeric, scientific or engineering discipline
  • Experience with cloud data services, (e.g. Google Cloud Platform)
  • Knowledge of data engineering processes and experience using GitHub
  • Experience with scheduling / orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow)
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment where prioritisation is required
