About Mr. Fusion

Mr. Fusion develops the world’s first waste-to-energy home bioreactor. We combine cutting-edge biotechnology and engineering to degrade your household waste and convert it directly into clean and renewable energy. Mr. Fusion is a dynamic, fast-paced Maryland-based startup, empowering consumers to reduce their environmental impact. We are growing rapidly and are looking for an experienced product focused environmentalist to join our team and help us save the planet.

Our Shared Mission

To achieve our goals, we must redefine the entire concept of waste management for the home consumer. Global waste is expected to grow to 3.40 billion tons by 2050, more than double the projected population growth over the same period. To date, even the most advanced waste management systems are ineffective at reducing the volume of municipal solid waste entering our landfills, oceans, and waterways. We are dedicated to developing new and sustainable solutions to the global waste crisis.

As the Head of Product for Mr. Fusion, you will work closely with the existing leadership team to lead our product offering. You will play an integral role in our mission and we will expect you to collaborate with the team to routinely tackle extremely difficult challenges with flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm. Our goal is to take ordinary household waste and digest it, reducing the impact and converting a portion of the wasted nutrients into energy available for use in the home. We will continue to innovate to address all types of ordinary household waste, from food and organics to plastics and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Shape the product strategy by bridging together consumer market research, competitive analysis, environmental impact, and consumer feedback
• Foster a strong product culture in collaboration with the Product Engineering and Biotechnology teams
• Drive the entire lifecycle for our product, owning the roadmap strategy, reporting, and information architecture of our product
• Work closely with engineers, biologists, founders, and cross-functional teams to build our product and business strategy
  

Required qualifications

• Shared passion for environmental causes, waste, and clean energy!
• You have at least 5 years of experience in product management, mentoring other team members and working cross-functionally. You value product and engineering excellence, love to learn, and get excited about being a hands-on leader within a growing team
• Flexibility in a fast-paced and multi-functional role while communicating effectively and clearly at all levels of organization
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and make recommendations on technologies and tools that will improve the usability, performance and reliability of our products
• Experience at a start-up or consumer focused company
