Job Description

As our Outbound Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations as well as build a comprehensive Outbound Logistics strategy, for future company needs. You will design and execute processes to ensure the safety of the drivers, integrity of the loads, track and trace of the equipment and loads as well as keep all the assets operational, you ]will suggest and support carrier selections for “long haul” vehicle transportation; You will be responsible for helping us transition toward being a more production-ready company.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a strategy for making sure our vehicles are delivered on time to our internal customers at the most efficient cost during a high growth environment
  • Develop our outbound transportation strategy and implement including internal assets and team members selection
  • Establish the process to operate and maintain in optimum condition our fleet. (Equipment maintenance) 
  • Develop and implement the safety guidelines to ensure team safety
  • Ensure assets meet all legal requirements for permitting and licensing at all times (DOT and state regulations)
  • Manage day-to-day operations of outbound vehicle transportation, including dispatch to a team of internal drivers and 3PL suppliers
  • Support in the monitoring and management of budget forecast and performance against forecast; develop and implement corrective actions when performance is not in line with budget
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to ensure continuous improvement in cost, service, and quality
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Logistics is providing high-quality service. Including but limited to, Zoox Logistics, Engineering, Service Operations

Qualifications

  • Experience with TMS systems
  • Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic; able to independently own and drive projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Take previous reflections and learnings and uses them to improve processes, systems, and overall work quality.
  • Knowledge of transportation transit times, DOT requirements (i.e. weight limitations and hours of service)
  • BA/BS Degree plus 5-10 years relevant experience in the logistics 
  • 3 Years of experience managing drivers and transportation operations
