Climate Solutions Director

Established in 2018, Grounded is a philanthropic organization that exists to identify, advance and scale climate solutions to ensure a livable planet. Grounded convenes and fosters collaboration between the world’s foremost climate change experts: a diverse community of scientists, policymakers, investors, executives and front-line organizations to cross-pollinate transformative ideas and innovative solutions.

Position Overview:

Grounded is seeking a Climate Solutions Director who will oversee climate solutions content for our organization. Successful candidates will be equally knowledgeable and passionate about climate solutions and know how to influence stakeholders at the highest levels to achieve scalable impact.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Partnerships, the Climate Solutions Director will be responsible for ensuring that all of Grounded’s climate solutions content is expertly written, researched and fact-checked before distribution. The person in this role will collaborate closely with other department heads and the Founder to provide scientific guidance on Grounded-aligned climate solutions.

The Climate Solutions Director will create content for the organization's website and written communications, oversee relevance of social media content and panel discussions. Position is fully remote and estimated at 15-20 hours/week.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the in-house climate solutions expert and provide strategic guidance for climate solutions focused content across all areas of the organization (ie., website, social media, panels, videos, events, etc.)
• Develop climate solutions-focused content that is expertly written, researched and fact-checked
• Maintain consistent awareness of current changes, policies, events and trends in the climate sector

Key Competencies:

• 8+ years of experience in climate, either in academics or professional climate action or a combination of both
• Strategic thinker who combines deep climate solutions knowledge with strong strategic understanding, which results in identifying and leveraging opportunities to solve the climate crisis.
• A sharp eye and judgement for innovative climate solutions
• Ability to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data
• Deep climate solutions knowledge across multiple fields (ie., regenerative agriculture, carbon sequestration, preservation of biodiversity, Indigenous wisdom and land management, greenhouse gas reduction, regenerative ocean farming, impact investing, food waste reduction, circular economy, environmental justice, etc.) 
• Demonstrated experience researching and advising on scalable climate solutions
• Familiarity with the climate sector, with a strong intuition for where policy will be most impactful in advancing equitable climate change solutions
• Ability to synthesize complex issues and translate them into digestible content that can be conveyed clearly and succinctly
• Meticulous attention to content accuracy and grammar
