The Role

At Motiv, we’ve taken a radically different approach to fleet electrification. Motiv has developed a line of all-electric medium-duty truck and bus chassis, our EPIC platform, which is used in many all-electric truck and bus applications.  As our business has grown, we have expanded our services to our fleet customers.  As the product line manager in a new business opportunity, you will take direction from the Director of Product Management to set up a new product line focused on energy and infrastructure offerings to complement our vehicle product lines.  This role has high visibility with the executive management team.

Responsibilities

Energy product strategy

• Develop and implement growth strategies for new products, new markets, partnerships, and business models
• Own the energy product roadmap based on voice of the customer & market

Product execution and P&L responsibility

• Drive product definition, define product cost/margin targets, coordinate development plan with internal engineering and external partners.  
• Align leadership to development and resource plan
• Responsible for setting product release schedule and delivering to schedule
• Coordinate product marketing activities with marketing team
• Accountable for establishing and meeting product line revenue & profit margin targets
• Coordinate internally with a cross functional operations team to drive successful product go to market 

Required Experience and Skills

• Bachelors' degree (preferably technical field); MBA preferred
• 8+ years in automotive, mobility, energy or technology, EV experience a plus
• Charging/power distribution infrastructure experience preferred
• Well versed in the energy ecosystem
• Direct customer facing experience to understand end market needs and then developing solutions to meet those needs
• Business development, including deal execution and a proven partnership record 
• Experience supporting customers in an external facing role
• Record of successful product or business launches
• Past experience in leading businesses, projects, or product development where collaboration across departments was critical to success
• Demonstrated ability in market analysis, product evaluation, and driving product decisions
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to influence and work with all levels of an organization
• Solid technical foundation, ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can do” attitude
