Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Workplace Operations Manager in San Francisco to build out and oversee a gorgeous 20,000 sq. ft. office, champion company culture, and proactively remove points of friction in our day-to-day operations. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is passionate about curating culture in a growing start-up and having a direct impact to shape the employee experience.

The ideal candidate thrives on multitasking, being meticulously organized, and finding unorthodox solutions to problems. They are comfortable working in an environment that is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and ever-evolving. This person can easily shift gears between independent work and collaborative leadership. They also have a positive can-do attitude with an ear and eye to anticipating needs and a willingness to pitch in.

Responsibilities

  • Scale our San Francisco workplace operations and culture as we grow to support Span’s business needs and employee satisfaction.

  • Coordinate and support professional delivery of all workplace services including but not limited to building operations, office maintenance, utility services, communications systems, construction and space projects.

  • Maintain an orderly, safe, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

  • Lead an internal onsite events program (e.g. happy hours, game nights, hackathons, etc.) that delight our employees. Partner with teams across Span to execute external onsite events that engage our customers and partners.

  • Track utilization metrics & operational spend, making recommendations to improve efficiency while maintaining quality experiences. Prepare and manage an annual budget.

About You 

Required Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Workplace or Facility Operations, Project Management and/or related field

  • A passion for building communities, making workplaces operate seamlessly, and delivering an amazing experience to employees and visitors.

  • Self-directed with ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment relying on a high bar for integrity and solid judgment

  • Highly collaborative approach to business with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others

  • Ability to gather data, assess situations and quickly develop solutions with a strong analytical/financial aptitude

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience negotiating and managing contracts

  • Event planning experience

  • Corporate communication skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA, EH+S, FDA and other standards and regulations.
