We are looking for a Quality Manager who will manage and improve our Quality Management System, including purchased parts verification, product verification, non conformity management, and partnering with supply chain and the audit team to improve supplier quality. 

Within 3 months you will:

  • Understand visual verification and testing plan for the entire production process. Identify the various verification/test points throughout the process and the precise criteria that should be verified to produce a compliant product every time 
  • Based on engineering specifications define process to create verification plans 
  • Manage the Root-Cause, Corrective-Action (RCCA) process, ensuring that corrective action is implemented to prevent defects that occur in the plant and/or supplier(s) from happening again by leveraging problem solving techniques
  • Respond to the production line when discrepancies are spotted, and support disposition defects in real time. 
  • Develop Quality criteria for source selection and be a key player in the source selection process.  Support verifying suppliers’ ability to meet product quality requirements and support business decisions.

Within 6 months you will:

  • Develop processes to ensure that products and processes comply with engineering requirements, company processes and government regulations
  • Have hired and trained a team of quality professionals, as appropriate for the business needs
  • Refine KPIs to represent the quality of the product. Analyze that data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement 
  • Be a liaison with the Fleet Service team to identify the top defects causing vehicle damage or excessive repair time
  • Communicate defective conditions to vendor partners and develop and manage SCAR (supplier corrective action request) process 

Within 12 months you will:

  • Have established the foundation for problem solving with the Quality Management System 
  • Manage and improve the performance of our supply base through processes such as quality requirements flow down, and coordination of verification activities of purchased products

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in a highly regulated design and manufacturing environment, preference for higher-rate operations and/or aerospace industry
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience. Experience leading teams 
  • Ability to ensure quality control system is compliant with 14 CFR 21.137 in accord with FAA Order 8120.23A  and can be extended to external suppliers or vendors based on previous experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing process audit plans and Process Control plans in support of strategic Quality plan
  • Knowledge of scoping quality reports as required to share trends so appropriate problem solving can be applied
  • Ability to train employees on quality assurance standards, expectations and processes
  • Working knowledge of ISO Quality Standards, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), Auditing, Project Management, Risk Management, Statistical Process Control, Metrology and Inspection
  • Experience working with the FAA under an approved Production Certificate (PC)
  • Able to support production schedule(s)
  • Open to international and domestic travel to suppliers

Preferred:

  • Experience working on Part 23, 25, 27, or 29 certification projects with MIDO oversight
  • Lean Six Sigma Training/Certification
  • Production Certificate (PC) ODA experience
  • Experience implementing AS9100 compliant QMS
  • 10+ years experience in Manufacturing Quality environment, preference for higher-rate operations and/or aerospace industry
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelors Degree
