Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you are responsible for managing and leveling-up our cloud infrastructure. You love building reliable, scalable systems on top of cloud services. You have a proven track record of securely architecting and managing cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code. You're proficient with Linux/Unix, and have a solid understanding of network technologies like firewalls, DNS, HTTP, and load balancing. You've applied container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) in production. You have experience applying monitoring tools such as Cloudwatch, Splunk, or NewRelic to catch surprises before they become big problems. You research and document repeatable processes and feel deep satisfaction from automating them. You work closely with software engineers to ensure seamless application delivery.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and evolve our AWS-based cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability
  • Develop and own best practices for configuration management, system upgrades, monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery, automating wherever possible
  • Streamline our CI/CD pipeline and deployment processes
  • Partner with the software engineering team to coordinate early on new feature initiatives which may warrant changes in infrastructure or software architecture
  • Work with the software engineering team to identify and troubleshoot issues in production
  • Lead regular infrastructure security audits
  • Contribute to developer tooling and processes to improve efficiency and limit manual effort
  • Work closely with the CTO & entire engineering team, who have been anticipating the addition of an experienced DevOps engineer like you!

What We Look For:

  • 3+ years of hands-on professional experience specifically managing cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
  • Experience with:
    • CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis)
    • Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
    • Infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with basic Linux, MySQL, Bash, Python, Git, HTTP & TCP/IP
  • Proven success delivering production cloud infrastructure
