Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Product Manager of Core Product, you’ll work closely with the Core team within our consumer product. This team is a combination of product, product design and engineering. In addition, you will work closely with legal, finance, and operations to build exceptional experiences for our members. 

This role requires you to wear many hats and act as the translator between business priorities and member experience. The role includes being able to run a full stack product development team, engage with users to get feedback, and work with analytics data to paint a full picture of how our product is performing.

You will focus on defining how members manage their account, pay their bills,  and rethink the way we connect with utilities today to build a reliable process that we can use to expand to new markets and quickly ship improvements to the core product.

THE PRODUCT MANAGER HAS FIVE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Define and build the system that lets members manage their account and pay their bills to decrease churn and increase trust in our offering (measured by NPS). 
  2. Redefine and scale our process to connect to utilities across the US and integrate them into Inspire’s offering to decrease required investment to add a new utility and increase reliability as measured by utility connection uptime.
  3. Build a reliable and scalable system to ensure (100% of) member’s bills are paid on time and focus on reducing churn of new members
  4. Work with the our larger team to meet our north star goal of reducing the energy consumption of our members
  5. Partner with cross-functional teams to find balanced and creative solutions, alleviate bottlenecks and balance the business needs versus technical constraints in order to drive engagement across the consumer platform while delivering a reliable experience for our members

  • Look at our communication touch points with members, and redefine how we engage with members to build trust and explain the impact they are making with Inspire
    Define how members manage their accounts and pay their bills.
  • Overhaul the way we connect with utilities and create a reliable process that enables us to expand to new markets.
  • Drive down our churn of new members
  • Create action oriented insights to help members increase their impact

EXPERIENCE

  • Must Have
    • Minimum of 3 years of product experience 
    • 1 or more years of digital product management experience
    • Demonstrated knowledge of technical product development and the software development lifecycle
    • Ability to influence across multiple levels and build relationships
    • Extensive knowledge of research methods and experience conducting user research to identify pain points and educate product design
    • Customer mindset and constant hunger to improve your product
  • Nice to Have
    • Experience with Mixpanel and Mode
    • Experience of building and supporting products at scale
    • Experience designing products that rely on an operations team for consistent performance
    • Strong analytical skills, competence in SQL, and experience with tools for doing data analysis
    • Experience in developing and maintaining a product roadmap
