The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $100M to date.Role Description Form Energy is seeking a hardware Controller to lead the Accounting function. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for Accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. In addition, the Controller will work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teammates to guide strategic financial decisions. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity to build an Accounting function from the ground up, while being supported by a community of passionate colleagues doing world-changing work.

What you'll do:

  • Build and lead the Accounting function, including A/P, A/R and General Ledger (currently outsourced)
  • Own preparation of monthly financial statements, delivering timely and accurate reporting
  • Scale accounting processes and internal controls, including ERP implementation
  • Support technical accounting analyses and related memo preparation
  • Lead financial statement audit and interface with external auditors
  • Maintain Master Data architecture in partnership with FP&A
  • Manage compliance responsibilities (e.g., federal/state/local tax, insurance, etc.)
  • Support VP of Finance and FP&A team with ad hoc analyses

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years of progressive Accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • People leadership experience, particularly in high-growth companies
  • Willingness to get “into the weeds” of transactional details
  • Reflection of Form Energy values; we perform to the highest standards on every axis, while being clear-eyed optimists about how we can be better, always
  • Ability to translate complex technical matters to business partners
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hardware experience required
  • CPA with Big Four experience preferred
