The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $100M to date.We are looking for a hands-on individual to aid in the electrochemical performance efforts of Form Energy’s long duration energy storage system. As the test engineer on the Performance and Integration you will be integral in ensuring our experiments produce high fidelity data. In addition to writing and developing electrochemical test protocols, you will work closely with various teams to design, execute, and maintain standard and non-standard testing. The role is anticipated to be primarily hands-on, with >60% of time spent working in the lab. The ideal candidate will have practical experience testing electrochemical devices while exhibiting a scrappy, interdisciplinary problem-solving attitude.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in cross functional efforts with Technology Operations team to perform cell and cycling protocol troubleshooting and identify opportunities for performance improvement
  • Write and maintain a variety of electrochemical test scripts across multiple battery cycling machines
  • Modify electrode test assemblies to explore improvements to standard sub-scale test vehicles
  • Serve as a liaison to the Data Engineering team to find opportunities to enable seamless data analysis and data entry for test data
  • Manage the interface with Technology Operations to facilitate test execution

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of experience writing battery test scripts using complex iterative logic
  • Familiarity with electrochemical test instruments including but not limited to Maccor, Arbin, Bio-Logic and/or VersaSTAT
  • Experience with identifying and solving electrochemical testing issues
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and/or MATLab is a plus
  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader team
  • Willingness to contribute to organizational and technical problem solving
  • High attention to detail Enjoys a fast paced work style
