About The Role:At Bowery Farming, we are building the most agile supply chain in agriculture. As part of that mission, we are seeking a Supply Planning Associate to join the Inbound Supply Chain to support our growth and evolution as a business. The focus of the role will be raw materials procurement for our indoor vertical farm growing system.In this position, your days will consist of focusing between managing daily operational needs, conducting weekly inventory assessments, and charting the course towards a more optimized and automated future. A strong candidate will have solid analytical and communication skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to new environments quickly. You will report to the Senior Manager of Inbound Supply Chain.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as an interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Operational Planning and Purchase Execution: analyze inventory levels and demand to determine planning parameters (e.g. reorder levels) to ensure product availability while minimizing inventory costs
  • Identify data trends, form conclusions and make well-founded inventory judgement calls. Manage variances, risks and accuracy of forecast data. Obtain and evaluate material requirement planning information across departments and sites
  • Identify and resolve potential supply shortfalls and bottlenecks by working with suppliers to formulate action plans
  • Resolve supply related issues (e.g. quantity delivered, quality delivered, delivery schedule, invoice adjustments). Engage in root cause analysis and drive corrective actions
  • Manage and expand Procurement KPIs, including setting targets and proposing initiatives to address gaps
  • Identify strategic opportunities to improve Bowery’s supply chain sustainability that enable successful scaling into new farms and new product lines
  • Review processes to ensure optimal cost, quality, delivery and safety of materials
  • Take leadership in project teams, across departments and sites

Who You Are:

  • You have experience in operations or analytics, preferred prior experience in inventory planning
  • You have experience working in spreadsheet technologies like Excel and Google Sheets
  • You are a highly organized and detail oriented individual - your analytical models are clean and clear, your meeting agendas are consistent and impactful, and your to-do list is prioritized
  • You are data driven and able to translate details into easily absorbed output, with intuition for what matters most in a complex situation and the courage to stick to your guns, or to admit when you’re wrong
  • You are a collaborative teammate who is able to form trust and consistency based relationships with cross functional partners
  • You are a strong verbal and written communicator with the ability to drive understanding with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You are a multitasker who can prioritize diverse tasks to hit hard deadlines and to know when to escalate issues that arise
  • You have Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
  • You have experience and/or are comfortable working at an early stage company with rapidly evolving practices, tools, and strategies
