About Ambrook

Ambrook is building a financial management platform for agriculture, starting with tools that help farmers and ranchers automatically discover and apply to farm assistance (e.g. disaster relief, conservation programs, and climate incentives). We care about giving farmers a fair shot to survive climate change. 

There is a virtuous cycle between profitability and sustainability in many natural resource industries, especially agriculture. Better soil health, water conservation, and climate resilience often leads to lower costs, increased yields, and price premiums for crops or livestock in the market. To reduce the upfront cost and knowledge barriers to implementing these practices, we are tackling an overlooked part of the operation: back office paperwork and financials. There’s tremendous room for improvement on existing software and time-consuming paperwork shuffling in the farm back office. 

We’re launching the first version of our full platform later this year.  Over time, we’ll expand beyond agriculture to rethink finance and banking in other natural resource industries: fisheries, forestry, mining, water, energy, and more.

Mission

Ambrook’s mission is to make sustainability profitable in natural resource industries. Since we started last fall, we’ve helped farmers and ranchers from every U.S. state successfully apply for over $4M in farm assistance.

Founding Team

Ambrook was founded in fall of 2020. The team has a strong expertise in building fintech and document processing products, and a personal interest in enabling climate resilience and sustainability for agriculture. Learn more about what it’s like to work with the team.

Engineering Roadmap: 6-12 Months

We have an aggressive roadmap in the next year. We’re going to be shipping:

• Ambrook Wallet, a stored value balance (like Venmo, Shopify Balance)
• Financial account import and analytics (like Mint.com, Personal Capital)
• A cash flow management suite that helps farmers understand their per-product profitability and make better decisions
• Debit & credit card offerings, to smooth out farmers’ payments
• New program applications for Ambrook’s farm assistance product
• Improved ops tooling and processes to support 10x volume
