Job Description

Product Manager, Platform

EnergyHub is expanding our product team and looking for a creative, hard-working Platform Product Manager with experience building enterprise software products. You will work closely with smart, thoughtful, and motivated people across a broad spectrum of technologies to develop outstanding products that help make the electric grid greener and more reliable.

At EnergyHub, the product team is involved in almost every facet of our business. From engineering to marketing to business development to QA to support, you’ll have a chance to sit at the nexus of all of it. As a Platform Product Manager, you will develop a strategy and features that help EnergyHub build scale in how we integrate with partners and client systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Own product strategy and execution for the APIs and tools that partners and clients will need to efficiently integrate with our platform
  • Gather market feedback, work with device vendors, partners, and utility clients to ensure that we’re building the right platform products to meet their needs
  • Own and contribute to the entire product development lifecycle: writing specs, wireframing, working with engineers, and making sure the product gets out the door on time
  • Generate ideas and champion new product features and enhancements
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams to prioritize our roadmap and build consensus around a product vision
  • Develop plans, process, and documentation that serve the needs of internal and external teams
  • Be the product expert to internal teams

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of software product management experience, in particular with enterprise SaaS products
  • Familiarity with the core technical concepts of APIs and technical integrations, or a curiosity and willingness to learn; this is not an engineering role, but you will need to be able to clearly communicate with engineers about technical products
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and launch awesome products
  • Be a proven self-starter, who is motivated and has a track record of delivering results
  • Excellent usability sense; you should also be able to step into the user's shoes and be their advocate
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and time-management skills
  • A quantitative and analytical aptitude and a desire to make data-driven decisions
  • Be familiar with the tools of the trade: Google Apps, Balsamiq, JIRA, Excel, and querying databases for analysis

Nice to have:

  • Experience with common integration standards in the energy space such as OpenADR  and SEP 2.0 (IEEE 2030.5)
  • Basic knowledge of programming - enough that you could make simple example requests to our platform APIs in your language of choice
  • Experience working in the energy technology or IoT space
