Supplier Account Manager 

The Role: 

We're looking for a Supplier Account Manager to fulfill daily orders, increase marketplace engagement and manage relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience buying or selling produce, a solid knowledge of agriculture and the desire to change the way produce is sold. The position will report to the Head of Supply & Operations and will play a large role in the growth of our Marketplace. You will join a friendly, driven and passionate team, determined to solve food waste by leveraging technology. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure orders are filled on time and in full
  • Negotiate price and spec for spot and contract deals 
  • Send POs to suppliers, manage rejections and reconcile order discrepancies
  • Provide weekly market updates to the sales and supply team 
  • Increase supplier opportunities for incremental revenue by growing their marketplace engagement 
  • Execute email and phone campaigns to increase the quantity of supply available on the marketplace 
  • Give marketplace demos 
  • Review, edit and approve supplier’s posts on the marketplace 

Our Ideal Candidate Has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, Crop Science, Ag Business, or relevant discipline with broad interest in the agriculture industry. 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of account management experience at a produce grower/shipper/packer, distributor or broker. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills and strategic acumen 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Very organized with strong follow-through 
  • Able to learn and use Salesforce, Slack and Asana 
  • Able to travel to meet with suppliers. 
  • Previous experience in a start-up or fast-growth environment a major plus 
  • Tech savvy - comfortable working with and learning new applications
