Job Description

Zoox is developing fully autonomous vehicles and the supporting ecosystem required to bring the technology to market at scale. At Zoox we have set the goal to provide our customers with the highest level of safety while using our fully autonomous vehicles. You will work with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds such as robotics, control, and vehicle engineering, to support the delivery of in-house sub-system test and validation, to ensure high system confidence prior to vehicle level testing activities.

Responsibilities

  • You will oversee and manage component and sub-system-level testing activities and/or work within a team to execute tests from request to reporting of results
  • You will direct and provide hands-on support to technicians in installing test components and instrumentation onto vibration tables, thermal chambers, ingress protection equipment, and other relevant test equipment.
  • You will manage the planning and daily activities in the Zoox validation test lab, developing and reporting KPIs to ensure consistent quality and efficiency
  • You will support the development of the lab including process planning for new test equipment
  • You will arrange necessary logistics for parts to and from other Zoox sites
  • You will execute tests and compile data, and analyze the data, and report results
  • You will own component & sub-system level testing activities so they are conducted accurately and efficiently

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) with 2+ years hands-on experience in automotive or reliability testing (component testing preferred)
  • Experience in one or more areas of automotive testing such as Vibration, Thermal, Reliability testing, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate technicians and testing support personnel
  • Excellent organizational skills to coordinate all aspects of test activities
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience with instrumentation: data recorders, accelerometers, thermocouples, and other transducers
