Technical Program Manager (ADI)

At Volta we’re on a mission to accelerate the adoption of the electric vehicle. Volta's award-winning charging stations benefit brands, consumers, and real-estate locations by providing valuable advertising space to businesses and convenient charging to drivers. Strategically located in places consumers already visit, Volta's chargers are currently the most used electric vehicle charging stations in the United States.
The Opportunity at Volta ChargingWe’re seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for our Data Intelligence product line to build out our ML/AI software product line and increase velocity of execution to roadmap. You will use your experience in the machine learning space to bring together market needs and technology to a wide range of products aimed at transforming the advertising and transportation industries in equal measure. You will lead cross-functional and multi-site programs to develop software solutions and services to support our wide variety of needs/products. Data Intelligence is responsible for bringing data to our company and users that will help increase decision velocity and quality.  This role will be specific to the ML/AI products and services.
This role is based in Montreal, Québec.

In your first 90 days, you will

• Have a full understanding of how our main tools work, who is responsible for what aspects and get a good grasp on the way the team works now and what improvements we can make to the process
• Implement observed improvements, get the team on predictable execution for each sprint, document how we will do regular releases with confidence, complete a risk management analysis to be updated over time with our given workload.
• At 90 days the team should now be on regular sprints where all items in each sprint will be completed with little overflow. Process/schedule is documented for all releases. Regular maintenance processes are documented for maintaining quality. 

After twelve months, you will have accomplished

• Executing multiple programs within the roadmap, owning and driving programs forward
• Leading technical programs covering a wide range of complexities (Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, ML Engineering, and Testing)
• On-time delivery of high quality features as well as product maintenance across all product life cycle stages (you’ll achieve this through hands-over oversight and collaboration)
• Keeping your stakeholders across the organization regularly and proactively informed on program status updates and critical issues
• Managing and mitigating risks, re-planning as events warrant and communicating these changes as they’ve happened
• Ideating and launching programs that always keep the end user in mind by leading with empathetic invention
• Breaking down complex issues and creating actionable plans that drive alignment by coordinating discussions that enhance collaboration and teamwork while delivering focused results
• Proactively identifying issues and drive solutions through resourcefulness
• Leading internal process improvements across teams and functions.

What you bring to Volta Charging

• In-depth experience in software engineering, systems engineering and/or technical product/program management experience within ML/AI software products.
• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience moving technical or engineering programs and products from concept to market
• Expert with Jira & Confluence and comfortable in multiple program management toolsExudes growth mindset
