About the Role:  

Planet’s Professional Services is a team of experienced technologists who work with customers to make them successful users of the companies product offerings. The team works closely with Product, Engineering and Sales enabling customers to gain the best value out of Planet tools and data during their journey, developing applications of new and existing products and technologies to expand customer use cases and capabilities. Your efforts will be directly visible in customers' ability to make global change actionable.

Impact You’ll Own:

As a Working Student in the Professional Services team, you will

  • Help coordinating customer participation in product pilot engagements by processing and delivering imagery to customer cloud services, facilitating product adoption and collecting feedback.
  • Support the team maintaining internal cloud storage projects in Google Cloud Platform.
  • Support labeling and training machine learning models for image segmentation.
  • Help develop, expand or maintain existing tools for technical demonstrations in Google Earth Engine. 
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers on Professional Services engagements.
  • Help creating and updating training materials (decks, tutorials, Jupyter notebooks, etc.) as well as support facilitating training enablement's.

What You Bring:

  • Knowledge of remote sensing, Earth observation, GIS and cloud services solutions such as GCP and AWS.
  • Tech savvy: able to learn new software without much instruction
  • Comfortable with using command line tools to access remote servers.
  • Any relevant working or internship experience in the field of GIS/ remote sensing or customer support
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor/Master degree course for another year.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • You have developed and are familiar with Python modules for raster and geo-data analysis.
  • You can understand and use Google Earth Engine for manipulating and analyzing satellite imagery.
