Clean Energy Campaign Associate
We have a choice. Do we want to continue powering our lives by burning fossil fuels, destroying wild places, clean water, our health and the climate? Or are we ready to take a different path? Today, we can harness clean, abundant energy from the sun and wind more efficiently—and cheaply—than ever before, tapping into power that doesn’t pollute or make us sick. Yet, the U.S. still primarily produces and consumes energy from fossil fuels. Continuing to choose coal, oil and gas harms our environment and our health. It’s time to break free. It’s time to transform the way we produce and consume energy.
Environment America’s mission—the thing that drives everything we do—is to transform our ideas and imaginations into change that makes our world a greener and healthier place. To help us achieve this mission, Environment America is seeking a Clean Energy Associate to help drive our policy agenda.
The Clean Energy Associate will work with our staff of researchers, campaign staff and communications experts to run advocacy campaigns at the federal level, coordinate state campaigns and influence corporate action. In 2021, our team of clean energy associates will work to win 100% clean or renewable energy goals in 10 states by 2023, convince America’s major retailers like Walmart to go solar on rooftops and parking lots, and win energy efficiency standards for appliances in 10 states.
Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; we provide training on advocacy and organizing skills, as well as oversight and on-the-ground training by an experienced advocate. Ideal candidates will have leadership experience, top-notch written and verbal skills, an eagerness to learn, and be ready for a challenge. We value organizing experience, including building campus or community groups.
