Urban Ocean Lab is looking for a strategic and mission driven leader, who enjoys collaboration and is skilled at organization development to join our team as the Managing Director. Urban Ocean Lab cultivates practical rigorous, creative, equitable, and practical climate and ocean policy, for the future of coastal cities. Candidates who are BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+, and have strong connections to coastal cities are warmly encouraged to apply.
About the Organization
Coastal cities are where so many issues collide – ocean and climate, ecosystems and infrastructure, and millions of people. Our safety, economies, and cultures depend on figuring out how to live better at this interface. Sea level rise and other ocean-climate changes are already affecting coastal cities. These changes are sometimes dramatic (like a hurricane), but more often incremental (like sea level rise), which can mask the urgent need for action.
Urban Ocean Lab (UOL) is a think tank, working with scientists, policy makers, designers, and community organizations to develop tangible, measurable action items for nationwide dissemination and adoption. Our mission is to cultivate practical rigorous, creative, equitable, and practical climate and ocean policy, for the future of coastal cities. Please see www.urbanoceanlab.org for more information.
Urban Ocean Lab is an independent operating project of the nonprofit umbrella organization, Multiplier, a nationally recognized nonprofit with a growing portfolio of innovative initiatives that conserve and protect a sustainable and resilient world (www.multiplier.org).
