Where in the world of OVO will I be working? 

This role sits within the Smart Delivery department, working in the Smart Platform Team and reporting into the Smart Platform Lead.  This team has responsibility for the systems, performance, change and release management to the Smart Infrastructure and for unlocking smart eligibility.

The Smart Metering Technical Specialist will provide the business with key and critical knowledge and understanding to support the company's Smart meter rollout objectives. They will be able to represent OVO externally to industry bodies as well as acting as an internal instrumental authority to ensure the best business outcomes are achieved for OVO.

What will I be doing?

Key responsibilities include:

• A deep understanding of the SMETS 2 technologies and the Smart metering environments 
• Acting as a technical authority over developments,  
• Input to BEIS/DCC/AltHAN developments for smart metering
• Overview of Development, Support & Monitoring of OVOs Comms Hub/Device testing 
• Developing SMETS2+ compliant Metering Solutions to support OVOs new products and tariffs
• Working closely with teams across to business to investigate issues and improve performance 
• Establishing technology to assist in process optimisation

• An awareness of Smart Metering, the GB Smart roll out programme and the Energy Supply sector
• An ability to analyse a situation and use data to make informed decisions and recommendations
• Adept in Agile business practices 
• An enthusiastic approach and an ability to drive continuous improvement
• Confidence and an ability to be a clear communicator
• Great interpersonal skills and the ability to form strong working relationships
• Confident in problem solving and collaborating with different organisations
• The ability to prioritise work based on risk and opportunity
• Highly numerate and analytical
