About the Role: 
Imperfect is growing quickly, and we’re seeking a Warehouse Optimization Manager to be a strategic partner to our Regional Director of Central Operations. The Warehouse Optimization Manager will be responsible for identifying key opportunities to leverage and improve processes including; defining appropriate metrics and owning the process improvement and system initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and scaling effective operations, experience in implementing best practices, and driving KPI improvements in distribution at a regional level. Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Regional Director of Central Operations to translate strategies and financial plans into short-term, medium-term, and long-term capacity plans including headcount needs across distribution centers and line-hauls
  • Evaluate available technologies and production processes that can be practically implemented to improve production efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in the production environment, improving accuracy, efficiency, and safety throughout
  • Partner with local leadership to meet and/or exceed regional KPI and P&L objectives
  • Own key transformation projects in operations, including the implementation of a WMS, materials handling systems, workforce management systems, asset protection, etc within the region
  • Define, supervise, and ensure compliance with industry-leading health and safety standards across site sanitation, safe working conditions, and accident reduction
  • Evaluate regional facility capacity in warehousing and transportation while improving the existing footprint and recommending expansion opportunities where needed
  • Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to identify and implement Lean Six Sigma projects

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You have effectively influenced colleagues across operations, technology, merchandising, and HR to implement key initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, with 3+ years of experience in the food and online grocery industry, preferred
  • You’ve mastered continuous improvement and innovation techniques including but not limited to, six sigma and supply chain optimization

Details of Position:

  • Full-time/ exempt position reporting remotely to the Regional Director of Central Operations
  • The candidate must be located within a commutable distance from our distribution hub in Los Angeles, CA
  • Domestic travel to new and existing facilities required between 25% - 50%

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Sedentary work; involves sitting most of the time
  • Occasional movement around the office may be necessary
  • Regular work with computers, including keyboards, mouses, and screens
  • Able to work in cold temperatures in a refrigerated environment
  • Exposure to all types of weather conditions
  • Frequent driving may be necessary
  • Domestic travel as necessary

How we are protecting employees from COVID-19
At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
