OVERVIEW
The Kitchen Assistant has the primary role of of maintaining a clean and sanitized working space in the kitchen and dish room at Beyond Meat’s Innovation Lab located in El Segundo, CA.

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Uphold food safety standards in the kitchen
• Set up and break down kitchen & dish room daily
• Clean and sanitize all food prep areas
•  Wash and store cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards, and dishes
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and walk in 
• Daily walk-in & freezer organization and maintenance
• Loading, unloading and organizing of food supplies and ingredients
• Supporting the ethos of the kitchen around compost and recycling
• Assist Chef and Culinary team with tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working as a dishwasher or prep cook in a kitchen
• Punctuality and timekeeping
• Strict adherence to safety and sanitation standards
• Move quickly and efficiently in small and sometimes crowded spaces
• Ability to react and respond calmly and professionally in stressful and demanding situations
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to lift 50-pound boxes and bags
• High school diploma or GED
