unu is an urban mobility brand based in Berlin. Our first product was the unu Scooter Classic, an electric scooter with portable batteries launched in 2014. Our products are sold both directly to consumers and business customers, making them accessible to everyone and resulting in fair prices by eluding dealership costs. In 2020, we launched the second generation of our scooter: The unu Scooter was designed in house and completely re-designed with our partners in Germany. The new scooter offers space for two people, as well as the largest storage space and one of the fastest acceleration values in the electric scooter segment.
After establishing a strong footprint in Germany, Austria and France, we are looking to consolidate our position as one of Germany's leading e-mobility brands. With strong creative, pragmatic and solution oriented team members, we are now looking for a strong Working Student in Embedded Engineering to join the team in unu’s headquarter in Berlin.
The Role
We have a vision for urban mobility: electric, connected, simply perfect. We are in the middle of turning it into reality, developing our next generation of scooters. We need you for a peak of 6 months to develop with us the core electronics – sensoric, boards, electrical interfaces, etc. You have the chance to be part of defining the coming generation of mobility – smarter, personal and for everyone.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You support the the Embedded Engineering team in defining specific components, testing equipment and validating engineering. This includes the various boards, sensors, signals, and documentation
  • You will execute functional verification as well as support on test technical specifications
  • Organize the EE Lab, taking full responsibility on enforcing cleaness and tidyness by making people respect the rules
  • Executing internal inventory check
  • Functional Hardware and Software verification of electronic units in current development equipment

WHAT YOU BRING

  • First of all, you should be passionate about our values - connection, creative challenger, simple perfection, authenticity, we are david - and our vision to create a mobility solution that fully connects people to their city. We’d really like if you bring us the following:
  • Experience in engineering electronics and embedded software – on a hobby level is also accepted
  • Understanding of electronic schematics and PCBs - Altium experience is a plus
  • If you know Arduino or Raspberry Pi this would be great
  • Experience with manual soldering - Using small reflow ovens is a plus
  • The will to drive modern, flexible ways of developing and delivering vehicles
  • A fluent level of English 
  • Having a B Driving license would be great
  • Ideally you are living and studying in Berlin
