THE ROLE

As the Workshop Manager for Australia, you will take full responsibility for making sure that Zoomo's high-end fleet bikes are always available and maintained to the highest standard. That means you will be responsible for a team of trained e-bike mechanics and will enable them to service Zoomo’s fleet to the high standards that you set. You will hire and set up workshop teams, procure bikes, parts and tools, and ensure that there are enough bikes available across Zoomo’s multi-location service network. Although you'll no longer be 'on the tools', you will directly impact the experience of our workshop workforce and build an awesome culture for our staff. The success of your fleet and the impact you make will shape the future of regional Workshop Managers at Zoomo across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the Zoomo Australia Fleet in the following areas:

  • Parts and Inventory Management: ensure inventory across all workshops is accounted for and at the right level, meaning stock takes, inventory forecasting and procurement
  • Labour Spend Management: maximise workshop productivity and implement process improvement initiatives to keep labour spend at a low but sustainable level
  • Workforce Capacity and Capability: determine the right level of labour capacity for our fleet, then hire, roster, train, manage and develop accordingly to ensure maximum e-bike availability, quality and business profitability
  • Logistics: ensure all workshops have the required level of parts, tools, consumables and bikes to enable smooth operations and Zoomo’s rapid growth
  • Fleet reporting: capture and report fleet metrics, including availability, bike downtime, parts and labour spend, fleet quality and workforce satisfaction
  • Process excellence: develop and implement standard operational standards and procedures to ensure maximum customer satisfaction, profitability, health and safety and compliance with local and state rules and regulations
  • Location and product expansion: assist the business in identifying, setting up and managing new city and state locations and the preparation of warehouses to support the launch of new products

Requirements

  • 5+ years of working experience within multi-location fleet management or warehouse management role
  • 2+ years as a mechanical technician or engineer (strong preference)
  • Data-driven in your decision making with sound business judgement
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment
  • Experience in creating and optimizing processes
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Self-starter and radiates positivity and possess a “can-do” attitude
  • Leadership by example. Able to motivate, inspire and create an inclusive, positive & supportive work environment for all
  • You’re a patient teacher and have a passion for empowering others
  • Relevant industry (cycling, food delivery, mobility, technology) experience advantageous
  • Alignment with Zoomo’s vision and purpose
  • Ability to work in Australia, such as working visa, permanent residency or citizenship
